You are allowed to be who you want to be. You don't have to adapt and conform to people. If you're awkward/ shy/ clueless, no need to make yourself be different or mask. Who cares if other people are bothered, it identifies them as the worst kind of people. The right people will love you for YOU. And it will feel great, because it's not a facade.
